Taylor Wimpey reporting: even better best-practice

Taylor Wimpey, one of the UK’s leading house builders and strongest best-practice reporters, asked us to work alongside them to refresh, streamline and modernise their annual report. In ‘year one’ we went back to basics, challenging every piece of content that wasn’t earning its place, and offering fresh insights and ideas. We did the same for the ESG supplement.

The report constitutes a significant visual step forward from last year, with messaging around the investment case taking centre stage at the top of the report. The report is now presented in a more screen-friendly landscape format, and various tweaks and improvements have been made in terms of best-practice disclosure – most notably the business model description, which offers far more depth and insight.

Reasons to invest

The report opens with a strong, highly visual messaging section structured around the business’ compelling investment case.

Value chain detail

The completely revamped business model description includes a detailed overview of Taylor Wimpey’s value chain, and explains how value is added at each stage.

Revenue, costs and margins

The new business model description includes detail on how the business generates cash, including an overview of key costs and typical margins.

Looking ahead

One of the changes made this year was to ensure that strategic objectives and relevant KPIs were presented next to each other, and that short and medium-term priorities were clearly articulated.
